Golden from K-Pop Demon Hunters just keeps on getting more and more successful. It’s all happening and The 2026 Oscar nominations were just announced. Notably, the song made history. Read on for the details.
A Big Nomination
Firstly, it’s the first K-pop song ever nominated for Best Original Song. Honestly, what a massive moment for the entire team, especially EJAE who voiced Rumi in the film. Not to mention helping to write the track. Naturally, she spoke about how surreal it all feels.

The Animation – Via ET YouTube
Not done, the movie landed a nomination for Best Animated Feature. Clearly, it’s a huge night for Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation. They’re going up against some really tough competition like Zootopia 2 and Elio but after winning at the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards they are definitely the ones to beat. For the Best Original Song category, they face off against folks like Diane Warren who got her 18th nomination.
Huge Success For Amination
NBC News pointed out that the film was a massive “animated blockbuster” that gave Netflix its “first No. 1 box-office title” when it hit theaters last year. Additionally, they mentioned how Golden was the “highest-charting soundtrack of 2025.” Plus, the track sat at the top of Spotify’s charts. The outlet also noted:
“Golden” scored an early win on Sunday with an award for best song written for visual media at the show’s Premiere Ceremony.
Actually, it seems wild how “characters from the movie became a popular choice for Halloween costumes.” Probably that’s because the energy of fans skyrocketed across the globe. Notably, folks aren’t just loving the animation anymore as they seem obsessed with vocalists like EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami.
Stage Fright
EJAE seems very candid about stage fright. So, when she performs live, many people hold their breath, willing her on to more success. Recently, she told People that she tries her best to overcome her anxiety. However with Golden and K-Pop Demon Hunters, the Oscars are a whole different level and it must feel nerve wracking. In fact, co-directors, Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans joked about stepping in to help her out.
The Academy actually confirmed that Golden was selected as one of only two songs performed live. And that’s a big deal! The Oscars air on March 15 and it feels like the whole K-pop community will tune in to see if they can get K-Pop Demon Hunters to pull off yet another win.

- These women made the show not caring if it may be popular, you can tell, but yet they blew up with every kid in the world. Now everyone loves them and the Netflix is making $$$$$$.
