The legal proceedings surrounding former NCT member Taeil and the charges of special “quasi-rape” against him and two other individuals are set to move forward. Reports indicate that their first court hearing is scheduled for May 12 KST. 1

This development follows the initial charges brought against Taeil and his acquaintances in June of 2024. The accusations allege that the three individuals engaged in sexual intercourse with a female victim who was reportedly intoxicated and unable to resist, an offense classified as special “quasi-rape” under South Korean law.

In the aftermath of the allegations, unverified rumors circulated suggesting Taeil had possessed a weapon during the alleged incident. However, these rumors were later proven to be false, offering some clarification amidst the serious accusations.

Notably, Taeil did not appear for questioning during the initial police investigation. His absence was attributed to “health reasons,” raising questions and drawing scrutiny from the public and fans alike.

With the first court hearing now scheduled, there is significant public interest in whether the former NCT member will make a public appearance. His presence, or lack thereof, at the hearing is likely to be a focal point of media attention and fan discussion.
