The Los Angeles stop of JUST B‘s world tour ‘JUST ODD‘ on April 22nd became more than just a night of electrifying performances. It became a moment for both the group and the broader K-pop landscape as member Bain bravely came out as part of the LGBTQ community.

In a heartfelt declaration to the cheering crowd, Bain stated,

“I’m proud to be a part of the LGBTQ community.”

This powerful announcement from Song Byung Hee, the 25-year-old vocalist, resonates deeply, especially within the context of South Korea, where openly identifying as LGBTQ+ by celebrities remains a rarity.

Bain’s courage echoes the groundbreaking step taken by actor Hong Suk Chun, who publicly came out in 2000. More recently, veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung also shared her support for the LGBTQ+ community by openly speaking about her eldest son’s marriage to his partner in New York.

Bain’s public declaration is a significant step forward for LGBTQ+ representation in the Korean entertainment industry.

What are your thoughts on BAIN opening up about being part of the LGBTQ+ community? Let us know in the comment section below!
