CRAVITY Takes Creative Control With New ‘Sonorous’ Comeback - YouTube

Starship Entertainment’s K-pop group CRAVITY announced their upcoming news. Read on to find out the latest updates about the nine-member group’s exciting developments.

The New Mini-Album

The group is dropping a new mini album titled “sonorous.” According to Shining Awards, the project arrives on September 30, 2026 at 6 p.m. KST. Physical preorders start September 15. Fans can choose between four options: Echo, Wave, Muse, and a limited Digipack edition.

The members of the group are taking a bigger turn behind the scenes. They aren’t just performing choreographies written by outside teams anymore, and the credits tell a very different story this time around.

Hands-On Tracklist

According to a tracklist report by Allkpop, the group revealed the lineup for their ninth mini album. It contains seven tracks in total. Members wrote the lyrics for the title track “LOUDER.” Meanwhile, songs like “LOVE ME,” “Fantasy,” and “Odd One Out” are all self-composed tracks.

About half of the tracks were created and written by the members of the group, which is very unusual for the K-pop industry. Bear in mind that often, creativity is very controlled, and groups like CRAVITY doing their own thing would have been unheard of a decade ago.

Resonance Across Emotions

On September 10, Starship released a teaser video titled “Sonorous: Our Resonance.” An article by TechnoSports reported that the central theme of the album threads together the full spectrum of human emotions in a message of “resonance.”

It’s the first release by CRAVITY since their eighth mini album, “ReDeFINE,” which dropped back in April this year. Clearly, the group is pushing on very fast, and they don’t seem to be taking many breaks between their creative efforts. Omona noted that the promo schedule includes a video release for “LOUDER” on September 28, and preview photos will drop on September 29.

The schedule also hints at unannounced schedule items labeled “SONOROUS ANNOUNCEMENT” and “HOLIDAY CONTENT.”

Taking The Wheel

K-pop groups often rely on external specialists to help them to shape their signature sounds, but CRAVITY seems eager to show what happens when they take the creative wheel. By taking charge of song composition, they add a more personal feel to the rollout.

The intent to step outside the box has become very obvious, and they seem excited about creating their own music. While industry insiders seem convinced that self-written tracks won’t work, netizens often react very differently from the way they may be expected.

Many fans appreciate it when the sound might not be as clean, but the music is made to try and connect more deeply with them. For fans, it’s not really the polish that matters, but rather, the closer connections that they get with their idols.

The full release arrives on September 30, and fans can decide for themselves once they hear the full CRAVITY project.
