BTS Jin, The ‘Happy’ hitmaker was very happy to receive a beautiful gift from Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin. In fact, he was so happy he immediately considered it something special. Here’s all the deets.
Jin Talks Loving Rock Music And Getting To Create Music In That Genre In New Chat With ‘The Tonight Show’ Host Jimmy Fallon
Jin may be the last member of BTS to release a solo project, but he is certainly not the least. The star made his solo debut at ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ to promote his new album ‘Happy’ and talked about meeting and working with the illustrious Chris Martin.
“Are you a big fan of rock? And who is your favorite rock artist?” Fallon asked, with Jin replying in his native Korean. The caption, however, read, “I really, really love Coldplay… I had a chance to work with Coldplay before. A few years ago — before this album — Chris Martin gave me a song he wrote. We worked on it together and it was an honor for me.”
Fallon then asked, “I heard he gave you a guitar?”
“Yes!” Jin enthusiastically replied, explaining, “I was hanging out with Chris Martin and he had a guitar from his tour, I jokingly asked him, ‘Can I have this guitar?’ Chris Martin was like, ‘Of course!’”
“I was so happy. Now it’s a family heirloom,” Jin added.
Well, the feeling’s mutual, because Martin once told the world in a 2023 video how much he loves “that guy ” And just for the record, I love “that guy” too. And to make it clear, “that guy” me and Martin are talking about is Jin.
Jin’s appearance on the late night show is coming six years after the band made its debut on the show with all seven of its members, including SUGA, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook. During that appearance, the band performed their Billboard Hot 100 No. 11 hit “Idol” and “I’m Fine,” as well as showed off their “Fortnite” dance trend.
Speaking of dance trends, Jin took the time to show Fallon the not-so-complicated dance steps to his viral hit “Super Tuna.”
In other news, Jin finished his mandatory military service in June and can’t wait to reunite with his BTS bandmates, especially Jung Kook, who he said he’s always fighting with.
