Rumors swirled around the music industry this week alleging that NJZ, formerly known as NewJeans, had partnered with Beasts And Natives Alike (BANA) for management and support after leaving ADOR. These reports, citing “multiple industry sources,” suggested a significant agency shift for the rising group. However, NJZ has vehemently denied these claims, labeling them “absurd false information” and threatening legal action against those spreading them.

Initial Reports of a BANA Partnership

Several media outlets, including TenAsia, reported that NJZ had contacted BANA to manage their entertainment operations under their new name. Sources claimed that BANA was handling international media requests and acting as their agency. The connection was seemingly strengthened by the fact that two BANA producers, 250 (Lee OhGong) and FRNK, had previously worked with NewJeans on hit tracks like “Attention” and “Hype Boy.” BANA‘s roster includes artists like f(x)‘s Krystal and rapper Beenzino. Adding fuel to the fire, NJZ‘s Hyein hinted during an Instagram live session about the group soon having an official agent. TenAsia reported reaching out to BANA for comment but received no response.

NJZ’s Strong Denial and Legal Threat

On February 14th, NJZ released an official statement categorically denying the reports.

“The report that NJZ is collaborating with Beasts And Natives Alike is completely unfounded,” the statement declared. “NJZ has not entered into any contract or discussions with Beasts And Natives Alike.”

The group directly addressed the source of the rumors, stating,

“These claims are baseless and appear to be attempts to stir controversy without verifying facts with the involved parties or Beasts And Natives Alike.”

They expressed their frustration with the spread of misinformation, emphasizing the distress it has caused.

NJZ‘s statement made it clear that they are not taking these false reports lightly.

“We intend to file a formal complaint with the Press Arbitration Commission and pursue severe criminal charges against the media outlets that continue to spread such false information,” they asserted. “These outlets have repeatedly published completely unfounded reports, presenting them as facts and causing immense mental distress to the members and others involved.”

The Aftermath and Uncertainty

NJZ’s forceful denial and threat of legal action have cast a shadow of doubt over the initial reports. The situation leaves the group’s future agency plans uncertain. While the connection between NJZ and BANA through previous collaborations is undeniable, NJZ‘s statement suggests that any potential partnership, if it existed, has either been terminated or was never in place.
