The world of K-pop currently brings some very memorable moments. Individual solo artists break records, and other big news involved the Oscars. But, there are other recent happenings of interest to global netizens. Read on for more details.
BTS Updates
The biggest news which many tabloids already covered, involved the return of unified BTS. It’s been a long time coming, and interestingly, nothing bad happened in the preliminary stage before they all got back together again.
While their comeback date, March 20, already happened, the hype was every bit as big as expected. Plus, Big Hit confirmed their new album, Arirang features 14 tracks. Making it unique, every member of the group took part in putting it all together.
While it’s interesting that their time away shows personal “reflections,” from their solo and military service days, their sound seems better than ever. Of course, K-pop fans still wait for all the dates regarding their full 60-stop world tour. They’re not all cast in stone, but that only makes the hype even more exciting.
Blackpink In The Spotlight
Blackpink hits the spotlight again, something they manage to do with regularity but things seem a bit different. Why is that? Well three of the members run their own agencies. Still, that didn’t interfere with their “Deadline” show in February, and the mini-album (EP) with 5 tracks any day now.
Even though they work together as a group, it’s clear they don’t plan to ax their solo projects either. In fact, some reports suggest that as soon as the tour wraps up, they head off back to solo projects. Not that it matters at all to fans if they keep on delivering brilliant work as a group. Much like MAMAMOO.
EXO News
Meanwhile, over at SM, EXO brings a mixed bag of news. Notably, the REVERXE album that dropped on January 19 seems popular. And of course, K-pop fans loved seeing Lay back in the mix.
However, without Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin, chatter about it isn’t going away any time soon. It’s all about ongoing legal and contract disputes, so the trio was left out of the January release.
In fact, the contract issues with the group almost across the board seem to be super irritationg for many fans. But, for music aficionados, if nothing else, they get to see the remaining six members kill it with “superpower” concepts again.
Coachella
Other news arrived about Coachella per KOOKIELIT which starts in April this year. Proof that they still go places is Big Bang proving they aren’t done yet. Notably, Big Bang performing members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung’s upcoming appearance at the famous music festival gets tons of people talking.

Additionally, TOP gave everyone a big surprise recently with the announcement of a solo album, Another Dimension, that drops of April 3. After 13 years and a greaty role in Squid Game 2, many folks thought he’d retired from music.
