When Jin released his album ‘Happy’ last week, he became the seventh and last member of the global K-pop group BTS to drop a solo project. With the success of the album, many are already wondering whether Jin would have plans of stepping away from the group where he made his fame to pursue a solo career.

Well, here’s what he has to say about his future with BTS.

Jin Calls BTS the “Only Band” He Wants To Be A Part Of

Jin is enjoying his newfound independence, but not too much as to forget the 11-year-old roots he has established with the global K-pop group BTS, alongside his teammates RM, Jungkook, Jimin, J Hope, Suga and V.

Despite the rumors, Jin revealed that he actually enjoyed his time as one-seventh of BTS and is not planning on leaving anytime soon. “The only band I, now and forever, will be part of is BTS. Band music is a genre I’m personally interested in, and I enjoy exploring different styles as a solo artist.”

Jin’s solo debut comes after he and two other band members were discharged from their mandatory military service. The band is expected to reunite by mid 2025 when all seven would have completed their enlistment.

While having a solo career allows him to realize his artistic visions more fully, he misses the banter and cheeky interactions he shares with his bandmates. “Oh, I miss them these days. Going solo gets kind of boring sometimes. If Jungkook is there, I can fight with him. But now, I don’t have them, and there’s only the staff. I can’t play or fight with the staff,” he said to TikTok Korea.

Jin kicked off his solo music career with the release of ‘I’ll Be There.‘ The pop-rock song sees him promising to be there for someone through the bright days as well as through the dark days. “I swear that I will always sing for you / Sing for you / Oh oh oh / I’ll be there for you,” he sings in the song’s chanty chorus.

Speaking on the album in a recent interview, he admitted that he created it with ARMY – BTS’ official fanbase – in mind. “I have a very clear idea of what kind of emotions I want to share with our fans … I want our fans, our ARMY, to be happy.”
