YouTuber Lee Jin Ho has been ordered by a court to suspend his broadcasts related to the late actress Kim Sae Ron and her family for a period of three months. This decision stems from accusations of stalking, marking a potentially pivotal moment in the intersection of online content creation and legal boundaries.

The Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, through its head Kwon Young Chan, confirmed the court’s ruling on March 31st, stating that Lee Jin Ho’s actions were recognized as a stalking crime, leading to the issuance of a provisional measure. This measure, carrying legal weight, prohibits Lee Jin Ho from producing and disseminating any YouTube content concerning Kim Sae Ron and her family for the specified duration.

This legal action comes as a direct response to the bereaved family’s ongoing efforts to protect their privacy and dignity in the wake of Kim Sae Ron’s tragic passing in February 2025. The family had previously initiated a lawsuit against Lee Jin Ho for defamation, alleging the spread of false information. Despite this initial legal challenge, Lee Jin Ho continued to broadcast unverified details about Kim Sae Ron and her family’s private lives.

This prompted the family to file an additional complaint on March 27th, accusing Lee Jin Ho of violating the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes and requesting a provisional measure. The court’s acceptance of this request underscores the severity of the situation and the necessity to protect the family from further intrusion.

Lee Jin Ho, known for his celebrity-focused content, has repeatedly faced criticism for his coverage of Kim Sae Ron.

Legal experts suggest that this case could set a precedent for future legal actions aimed at protecting the dignity of deceased individuals and their families from online harassment and defamation. The family has also indicated plans to file an additional lawsuit against Lee Jin Ho for defamation based on false information in his recent broadcasts, signaling their determination to seek justice and protect Kim Sae Ron’s legacy.
