Chance isn’t just another chart-topping song; it brings a lot of excitement for the Korean Wave, or Hallyu. Certainly, it helps to spread the global appeal of South Korean culture. KPop Demon Hunters blended traditional Korean elements with modern K-Pop, hugely helping the cultural movement on its way.

The outlet wrote, “HUNTR/X’s “Golden” goes up, up, up a spot for its first week at No. 1…”

Fans Seem Excited

As the song is only the ninth ever to do so hit the #1 spot, it can only be good for K-Pop groups and fans. Though HUNTR/X exists only in the film’s animated world, their music, connected with real listeners.

Folks seem delighted that Hallyu continues to grow. Music influencer Chris Liepe on YouTube couldn’t understand why so many followers were blowing up his comments about the song and the movie. And, that came even before Chance hit the top spot. Once he listened to it, he couldn’t get it out of his head. He said, “the melody has been stuck in my head ever since.”

In  his vlog, he also said:

There’s a call-and-answer thing that happens with the first vocal sound of the song, which is this inhale. It’s beautiful. And then that’s doubled with an extremely soft onset into a breathy single note. Masterful production here. And it’s so subtle.

If you don’t know, Chris is a vocal singing coach, and according to Bathroom Singing Crew, his “popularity and success are well-deserved, given the immense value he’s provided through his videos to the singing community.” So he seems to know what he’s talking about.

Fans Comment In There Discussion Area

K-Pop fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts about Chance from HUNTR/X in Netflix’s film, Demon Hunters. One of them wrote, “Amazing range, incredible vocal mechanics, and she wields both like an Olympian. Mix those skills with her abilities as a songwriter and you’ve got an incredible artist,”

Here are a few more reactions:

  • Ejae was the predominant singer in this song. A known songwriter and producer for kpop girl groups. She never got the chance to debut as a star on her own because of ‘being too old’ for the kpop machine standards. However she’s now making a name for herself with projects like this.
  • What I love about this song, besides how amazing it sounds, is that the vocalist is finally getting their own ‘golden’ moment. They were sidelined in the industry for 10 years, moved onto writing (they wrote this song too btw), and unexpectedly got cast by the director off the demo track.
