Fans of K-pop superstar IU recently got a dose of her famously relatable honesty. Through a fan communication platform, the singer-songwriter revealed a surprising personal detail: her height is shrinking!

When asked about her current height by a curious fan, IU candidly shared that she measured 163.2 cm (approximately 5 feet 4.2 inches) last year. However, much to her own surprise, she’s now 162.7 cm (approximately 5 feet 4.0 inches).

This isn’t the first time IU has been transparent about her physical self. She previously shared on a variety show that her weight typically hovers in the low 40 kg (around 88-90 lbs) range. She even humorously recalled a time when she was at her lightest and could fit into children’s clothing.

Despite these revelations, many are often surprised by her actual height. Due to her petite and almost ethereal image, people commonly assume she’s in the 150s cm range, not the 160s. IU clarified that her careful attention to her weight is largely due to her face easily becoming “chubby,” and that her appetite has naturally lessened over time.

This peek into IU’s everyday life comes just as she’s gearing up for her highly anticipated music comeback with her third cover album, ‘A Flower Bookmark 3,’ set to release on May 27. Fans are undoubtedly excited to see what new musical magic she’ll bring, even if she’s a tiny bit shorter!

What do you think about IU’s candidness with her fans?
