A cryptic, now-deleted social media post by R&B duo Emotional Oranges has sparked rumors of a potential solo comeback for NewJeans member Danielle – and raising more questions about the group’s uncertain future with ADOR.
On May 19, Emotional Oranges, known for their futuristic sound, shared a photo on their international social media account featuring Danielle. The post was adorned with collaboration emojis (an orange for the duo, a bunny for NewJeans) and captioned:
“Hang tight. Coming soon.”
Danielle herself looked cool in denim, a hooded jumper, and sunglasses.
Given NewJeans’ well-documented legal battle with ADOR and their current hiatus, the idea of a solo venture for Danielle, especially without the involvement of her current agency raised questions from netizens. However, as quickly as the speculation began, the post vanished.
The group has been locked in a legal battle with ADOR since last November, seeking to terminate their exclusive contracts. While a court ruling in favor of ADOR approved an injunction restricting the members from signing new deals, the members have appealed, steadfastly asserting their intention not to return to the agency. Their independent activities under the name ‘NJZ‘ have been effectively put on hold, leaving the group in an indefinite hiatus.
The deleted Emotional Oranges post has undoubtedly raised questions about the legality of her recording new music given the court ruling. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comment section below!
