The K-pop world has been abuzz with news surrounding Hanni, a member of the popular group NewJeans (now NJZ). Recent reports confirm that Hanni has successfully obtained a new visa, bringing relief to fans and addressing concerns about her future in the industry. This news comes after a period of uncertainty fueled by misinformation and administrative hurdles.

Visa Renewal Drama

Hanni, who holds dual citizenship in Australia and Vietnam, had previously renewed her E-6 Entertainment Visa annually through her agency, ADOR. Following the announcement of NewJeans‘ (now NJZ) departure from ADOR, questions arose regarding the renewal of Hanni’s visa. This sparked anxiety among fans, who feared the potential implications for her career.

ADOR quickly stepped in to clarify the situation, confirming that the group’s exclusive contract remained valid and that all necessary documentation for a visa extension had been submitted. This reassurance helped to quell some of the growing concerns.

Malicious Rumors and Political Intervention

Despite ADOR‘s assurances, malicious rumors began circulating, falsely accusing Hanni of being an illegal resident. These unfounded claims added fuel to the fire and created unnecessary stress for the artist and her fans.

The situation even reached the National Assembly. Lawmaker Park Ji Won addressed the issue during a session of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, urging the Ministry of Justice to intervene.

“A famous idol, Hanni, is at risk of being deported due to an alleged illegal stay,” Park stated. “I urge the Ministry of Justice to ensure that artists like her can continue their careers without unnecessary obstacles.”

New Visa, New Beginnings

According to Hankyoreh, the visa was obtained through an administrative officer. While details regarding the specific type of visa and the company involved remain undisclosed, the successful acquisition is a significant victory for Hanni and NewJeans (now NJZ).

NewJeans (NJZ) Moving Forward

This development coincides with other news for NewJeans (now NJZ). The group recently announced a name change and is set to release a new single on March 23rd. They will also be performing at the ‘Complex Live‘ event in Hong Kong from March 21st to 23rd at the AsiaWorld-Expo. However, this may not happen if the court approves an injunction filed by ADOR to stop the girls from promoting till the validity of the exclusive contract is ruled on.
