CARATs, gather round. Today, Pledis Entertainment delivered an update on the mandatory military enlistment for two more beloved members of SEVENTEEN: Hoshi and Woozi. The agency officially announced on July 8th that both ’96 liners will begin their mandatory military service this September.

Woozi, SEVENTEEN‘s producer and vocal team leader, is set to enlist as an active-duty soldier in the Army on September 15th. Hot on his heels, performance team leader and main dancer Hoshi will follow on September 16th. This makes them the third and fourth members of SEVENTEEN to enlist, following Jeonghan (who enlisted in September 2024) and Wonwoo (who began his service in April 2025).

While this news marks a temporary pause in their group activities, Pledis Entertainment has assured CARATs that they have prepared extensively to keep the connection strong.

“We have prepared a variety of content in advance to continue connecting with CARATs,” the agency stated.

Before their enlistment, Hoshi and Woozi will participate in a few final official activities. These include the highly anticipated ‘HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT [WARNING]‘ and a video call fan sign event for their 5th full album.

Pledis also made a respectful request to fans regarding the enlistment dates:

“Since the training center entrance ceremonies are occasions attended by many soldiers and their families, we kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting the site. Please send your farewell messages and words of support for Hoshi and Woozi through Weverse instead.”

Hoshi and Woozi, who debuted with SEVENTEEN in 2015, have been instrumental in shaping the group’s unique sound and captivating performances. Woozi’s songwriting and producing have been a cornerstone of SEVENTEEN‘s musical identity, while Hoshi’s powerful stage presence and intricate choreographies have defined their “performance kings” title. Their upcoming absence will undoubtedly create a new dynamic within the group, but with the remaining members and pre-prepared content, SEVENTEEN‘s momentum is expected to continue.

Pledis concluded their statement by asking for CARATs’ “unwavering love and support so that Hoshi and Woozi can fulfill their service duties diligently and return in good health.” They also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the artists throughout their service.
