Kim Taehyung AKA V from K-pop group BTS - Instagram

BTS star Kim Taehyung, known as V from the K-pop group, has taken the title of the fastest person ever to reach 70 million followers on Instagram. Read on for more about this amazing achievement.

The First Post Was In 2021

Back in December 2021, V posted his first ever pic on Instagram. At the time, it showed a picture of a dinosaur skeleton and he captioned it with, “Dooley the baby dinosaur.” Plenty of people welcomed the star to the social media website, and since then, his posts took off like a rocket heading for Mars.

On Monday, AllKpop.com reported that, in fact, V from BTS has some incredible statistics to boast about. Their article noted:

V stands as the most-followed male Korean soloist on Instagram and the second most-followed Korean male act overall, after his own group, BTS, whose official account has 77 million followers.

70 Million Followers

A few other stunning records were also cited, and they included him hitting 1 million and then 10 million followers faster than anyone else on the platform.

Now, imagine this! You start an account, and post only 150 times, and you hit 70 million followers! Well, it’s possible, people, because the BTS star did just that.

Why So Many?

Of course, there are some famous faces in global music who have high numbers of followers. But, given the fact that V also had to take a break for national service, it seems amazing.

What attracts people to V seems to be his likability. A report by HYPEBEAST Korea revealed that Taehyung took the record for a single post last year. During his national service, he posted a photo that garnered him “17.7 million likes.”

Of course, he’s considered handsome and desirable by many K-pop fans across the world. So, that could account for many of his passionate followers. Often, in the comments, netizens will refer to the BTS star as “my boy,” or even “my love.” And, his popularity becomes evident when you notice that not every single photo is stunning.

Earning Good Cash

As you probably know, many people from reality TV to big actors and models can earn from their followers. Of course, landing a brand deal to earn more is a huge objective. But imagine being V, where brands fall over themselves to align with his name. Possibly, his net worth is greatly bolstered by that. Did you know he’s estimated to be worth in the region of USD $40 million?

While BTS as a group, and individually, did very well, it certainly seems as if V has the magic touch when it comes to posting on social media. Over the years, his very first post accumulated sixteen million, three hundred sixteen thousand, three hundred and seven likes.
