Recently, a controversy involving AD1’s Kim Geonwoo got K-pop netizens in a twist. Notably, it brings questions about the star’s history and company loyalty. While WakeOne threatened legal action, a well-known genre vlogger broke down the “messy” reality of the situation. Read on for more details.
A ‘Subscription To Scandal’
At one stage, fans hoped Kim Geonwoo’s past bullying allegations were behind him. However, once again, the idol sits in the spotlight following claims of workplace verbal abuse. Popular vlogger K-Pop Spy addressed the drama on her YouTube channel. There, she opined that Geonwoo back in the headlines seems as if he “has a subscription to Scandal.”
During her vlog on Monday, she explained that the main story was kickstarted by a mom. Apparently, she claimed that her daughter, a floor director at MBC, was insulted by an idol. According to the account, the idol allegedly muttered, “bleep that fat bleep should shut up,” assuming he wasn’t heard.

Apparently, and not unsurprisingly, the daughter felt humiliated. Adding to that, the idol allegedly “stared her up and down like she was something stuck to his shoe.” Well, it didn’t take netizens long to figure that the offender was likely AD1’s Kim Geonwoo.
Fake Proof & Stolen Identities
While the story seems a bit shocking, K-Pop Spy pointed out that the “proof” turned into a “muddy swamp.” Backing up the victim, some accounts posted employee IDs and business cards. However, they apparently turned out to be “straight up stolen and AI edited.”
It seems verifiable because one staffer reportedly woke up to find their own work photos being used as fake evidence. Naturally, Spy slammed the manufacturing of so-called receipts. Notably in her opinion, identities “hijacked, impersonated, and recycled as fake proof” just “wreck the overall credibility of the case.” Of course, that makes it impossible to tell fabrication and reality apart.
A History of Red Flags
Additionally, the vlogger highlighted that bad behavior didn’t sprout like a bean yesterday. During Boys Planet, Geonwoo faced accusations of bullying. In that incident, it led to a handwritten apology, not to mention a “secret company trainee” scandal. Because of the “rotten” track record, many fans felt ready to believe the worst.
Not done yet, the vlogger also took aim at WakeOne’s handling of the K-pop star. In her opinion, it seems they gambled on the “one dude with a warning label” despite having other popular trainees. Finally, she felt that Kim Geonwoo is simply not a “pure little lamb.” Nevertheless, she warned fans against dragging someone based on “what you hope is true because you already hate them.”

Reactions In The Comments
Plenty of people had something to say about the vlogger’s take. One viewer agreed, saying, “I love how you drag the fandom, deserved!”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion area:
- He already has bullying allegations, so it’s not looking very good for him rn, but we should wait for now. maybe new info will come about this whole issue.
- He clearly doesn’t have the cleanest track record of being a “nice guy,” but whether or not he’s innocent, having this type of start to your idol career is basically as close to a death sentence for your idol career as you can get.
- I don’t really care about him either but I’m not gonna go find reasons to make him look bad. I just simply will move on and ignore him lol.
- Why did stupid unemployed teenagers start spreading false evidence[?] it just makes the situation more chaotic and more difficult to analyze.
