The world of BTS definitely experienced a few strange moments recently in K-pop news. I mean, pretty much at the same time, several huge stories broke which ranged from very honest talks from the members to historic chart records. As a matter of fact, the group dominated the headlines again, even though, technically, they were on a break from official performances.
Anpanman Makes History
The biggest surprise was the Billboard charts. Really, no one anticipated any of the seven-year-old songs to suddenly hit number one. In fact, the 2018 backside tracks of “Anpanman” climbed back onto the World Digital Song Sales chart this month, per AKPOP. Quite surprising is the fact that this took place without any new remixes or big marketing.

Global streaming helped to get the group’s popularity spreading naturally. Actually, it seems that K-pop fans love the track for its verse on being an imperfect hero. Notably, 2025 is a year when that theme resonated with the people all over the world. The demand is a good demonstration that the BTS catalog has lasting appeal.
Honest Talk On Weverse
The full BTS group livestream on December 21, saw a change in the vibe to a more serious one. In fact, all seven members reunited to chat with fans about their future. However, when the mood was right, RM shared some very blunt thoughts about their agency, HYBE. He went on to say that he wanted the company to make the group feel more loved.
Of course, the other members didn’t all feel the same way. Jin actually took the side of the agency, pointing out how hard they work. RM, however, stuck by his guns and showed his irritation at the delay of their comeback news.
He even said that, at one time, he wondered whether it would be better if the team broke up or just took a pause. In the end, out of love for the fans and his fellow members, he decided to stay.

Looking Toward 2026
On the bright side, the group unveiled some big plans aside from the internal struggles. Already, they wrapped up recording their new album. RM told everybody to get ready as they’re going to make it the “Year of BTS” in 2026. At present, the group is planning a full return in March 2026.
In addition to the new album, a huge world tour is also planned. The tour, according to rumors, will have 60+ stops all over the world. Well, Simon Cowell’s new boy band can smoke that in their pipe! Did you know they dissed BTS not long ago?
Mostly Positive News
Naturally, after a bit of negativity from RM, fans felt a bit anxious. However, the other news, at least, seems very positive. Overall, the group seems more than ever determined to take their next step.
Notably, it sounds like they go to great lengths to be ready for a spectacular return. Obviously, we’ll continue to monitor any official announcements from the label, going forward.
