Jungkook may be fulfilling his mandatory military service in Korea, but that doesn’t mean that he’s stopped accumulating musical achievements. The K-pop vocalist has enjoyed an especially fantastic 2024 that more or less started when he released the song ‘Never Let Go’ as a tribute to fans.

In 2023, he released his debut solo studio album, ‘Golden,’ to considerable success, and he recently reaped the fruits of that success when he earned two BBMA awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, Dec. 12.

This week, Jungkook took home two coveted awards from one of the top award shows in the US. The vocalist won in the Top K-pop Album and Top Global K-pop Song categories for his debut solo album titled “Golden” and its standout single, “Standing Next to You,” respectively.

This marks Jungkook’s second year of winning at the awards show. He sadly couldn’t be there live to receive the award since he is still undergoing his mandatory military service.

K-pop Groups Stray Kids and Seventeen Also Win At This Year’s BBMAs

Jungkook was also not the only k-pop act to be awarded that night as Stray Kids took home the Top Global K-pop Artist award, while Seventeen won the Top K-pop Touring Artist.

Stray Kids used their acceptance speech to thank fans for their enduring support, saying, “We’re truly grateful to our fans, Stay, all over the world. We feel like we’re able to receive such a precious award and perform on a big stage like this all because Stay is by our side. All of this is thanks to our fans.”

Stray Kids recently dropped an album, titled ‘HOP,’ alongside a music video for its standout single, “Walkin On Water.”

In a pre-recorded message, Seventeen also thanked their fandom Carat for all the support in a heartfelt message. They said, “This wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing fans, Carat. We tried to make it up to you with good music and performances, but you always seem to find a way to surprise us with even more love. So thank you so much.”
