K-Pop group NINE.i revealed they’re taking an indefinite hiatus with effect from mid-December. It’s understood that the group temporarily suspends their activities. But, it certainly doesn’t sound very temporary. Read on for more details.
Why The Hiatus?
Korea Boo reported that apparently, the group takes time away from each other to focus on solo projects. Apparently, a lot of discussion took place between the group members and their agency, FirstOne Entertainment.

From what K-Pop fans can figure out, some of the members who left the group motivated the temporary breakup. If you don’t know, Winnie quit in January 2024 due to health issues. Meanwhile, Joohyoung left in March this year, and, finally, Seowon cited personal reasons for departing the group in June.
The News Confirmed On Social Media
Although the group continued performing, they’ve chosen to stop group production for a while. This week, the decision arrived for fans via an official notice on their social media. So, it’s not just another rumor.

Originally, NINE.i consisted of ten members and they debuted back in mid-2022. New World, a mini album, promoted them successfully and they came with a refreshing name that basically meant “EVERYDAY NEW i.”
Well, they aren’t so new now, following a few issues with members leaving and reportedly, some clashes with their agency. Although those issues finalized in June last year, clearly, things never went back to what they were before.
The Group Dynamics
Ahead of their hiatus, Jewon, Eden, Minjun, Vahn, Vari, Taehun, and Jiho remained. Jewon sang and was the main leader. Meanwhile, Eden and Minjun were vocalists. Vahn, also a singer, brought a bit of a rap feeling and Vari also provided vocals. Many fans enjoyed the dancing by Taehun and Jiho also brought a fun vibe as the youngest member of NINE.i.
Some fans remember the K-Pop members as contestants on survival shows like Produce X 101 and Boys Planet. But for now, the future seems unclear.
