ADOR and Team Bunnies Clash Over NewJeans x Indomie Pop-Up

There’s a disagreement brewing between NewJeans‘ agency, ADOR, and the group’s unofficial fan club, Team Bunnies, over an upcoming event.

NewJeans is collaborating with ‘Indomie Mi Goreng‘ for a pop-up store in Seoul from May 1st to 13th. While NewJeans isn’t actively promoting as a group right now due to a legal issue with ADOR‘s parent company, this event is still happening.

Team Bunnies, the fan club that supports the NewJeans members, announced they would be doing a survey to see how many fans want to buy a special postcard set from the pop-up. They even showed pictures of the postcards and the store.

This seems to have bothered ADOR. The agency released a statement saying that while the pop-up is approved, ADOR did not ask any fan clubs to promote it or collect fan information. They specifically warned fans that some “unauthorized fan accounts” are trying to get personal details through a fake demand survey and advised fans to be careful.

“Hello, this is ADOR.

The members of NewJeans are currently affiliated with ‘Indomie’ as the brand’s official advertisement models. The upcoming pop-up store is being hosted by a partner company after prior approval from ADOR.

However, ADOR would like to clarify that the agency has not engaged in any communications with fan accounts, such as requesting fan accounts to promote the pop-up event or collect information about consumer demand.

And yet, we have confirmed that some unauthorized fan accounts and fan communities are attempting to collect personal information about fans under the pretext of a demand survey.

At this time, we ask fans to exercise caution so that none incur damages due to this recent incident.

Thank you.”

While ADOR didn’t name Team Bunnies, it’s pretty clear they were talking about them. Some people online agree with ADOR, questioning why an unofficial fan club is getting involved in an official event. Others think ‘Indomie’ might have contacted Team Bunnies directly.

Team Bunnies hasn’t said anything publicly since ADOR‘s statement.
