Netizens have been buzzing since the finale of Netflix’s mind-bending survival series, “The Devil’s Plan: Death Room,” dropped on May 20th. While the show pitted brilliant minds against each other in a battle of wits, some viewers turned their critical gaze towards Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, accusing him of lacking competitive spirit and a true desire to win. Now, Kyuhyun himself has stepped forward to address the swirling controversy.

Taking to a fan communication platform on May 21st, Kyuhyun shared his perspective on the show and the production process. He acknowledged the limitations of broadcast television, suggesting that the intricate editing process inevitably means some important details and behind-the-scenes moments don’t make it to the final cut.

Kyuhyun openly admitted to having “some regrets” regarding his own performance, a sentiment many can relate to when reflecting on a high-pressure competition. However, he also conveyed a sense of acceptance, stating there was “nothing more he could do” about it now. This response suggests a move beyond dwelling on past criticisms, a sentiment he hopes his fans will adopt as well, asking them “not to feel too upset.” He even teased the possibility of sharing more behind-the-scenes stories in the future.

Kyuhyun also emphasized the strong bonds forged among the diverse cast members – a group that included not only familiar faces like Go legend Lee Sedol and announcer Kang Ji Young, but also Hollywood actor Justin H. Min and four highly skilled civilian participants. He highlighted their mutual understanding, support, and the good relationships they maintained, even amidst the intense competition.

Kyuhyun’s reminded viewers that “everyone has their own perspective.”
