The recent SMTOWN LIVE 2025 concert in Los Angeles, celebrating SM Entertainment‘s 30th anniversary, delivered a night of unforgettable performances and, well, some unexpected moments. Among them, a particular shout-out from Super Junior’s leader, Leeteuk, has ignited online discussions.

During Super Junior’s set on May 11th at Dignity Health Sports Park, the six members present – Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Ryeowook – brought their signature energy to the stage. Leeteuk, ever the entertainer, kept the atmosphere light with playful interactions, including singing the Lion King OST and a humorous address to a fan.

However, it was a series of enthusiastic exclamations that truly caught the attention of the audience and later, the internet. As the energy of the concert reached its peak, Leeteuk exclaimed,

“I love USA,”

followed by

“I love Elon Musk,”

“I love In-N-Out,”

and finally,

“I love Trump.”

This last declaration, captured in fan-recorded clips that quickly spread across X (formerly Twitter), has become a talking point among K-pop fans and beyond. The unexpected nature of the shout-out during a celebratory K-pop event has led to a variety of reactions online.

While the context suggests Leeteuk’s statement was made amidst a flurry of appreciative remarks about American culture and icons, the inclusion of the  president’s name has naturally drawn the most commentary. Some fans found the moment amusing and indicative of Leeteuk’s often unpredictable stage presence, while others expressed surprise or different opinions.

The “SMTOWN LIVE 2025” concert was a significant event, bringing together a massive lineup of SM Entertainment artists to commemorate three decades of K-pop history.

What are your thoughts on Leeteuk’s declaration? Let us know in the comment section below.
