Rumors swirling around 2PM‘s Taecyeon regarding a secret marriage have been officially shut down by his agency, 51K. On February 5th KST, 51K released a statement clarifying the situation and addressing the leaked photos that fueled the speculation.
2PM’s Taecyeon Denies Marriage Rumors
The agency firmly stated,
“The marriage rumors are not true.”
They explained the context behind the photos that surfaced online, saying,
“He simply took a photo for his girlfriend’s birthday. Since she is a non-celebrity, we are also taken aback by the photo leak.”
The Leaked Paris Photos and the Story Behind Them
Earlier that day, an online community post ignited the marriage rumors. The post cited photos uploaded by a photographer in Paris, depicting Taecyeon giving a ring to his girlfriend in what appeared to be a proposal scene. The photos, taken in France, were initially posted in April 2023, further fueling speculation that the couple had already married. However, the photographer later deleted the post, leaving fans and media outlets to piece together the story. 51K‘s statement now clarifies that the photos were indeed from a birthday celebration and not a secret wedding ceremony.
Taecyeon’s Open Relationship and Recent Activities
Taecyeon publicly confirmed his relationship with his non-celebrity girlfriend back in 2020. At the time, he addressed the news on social media, stating,
“I’m sorry if this sudden news surprised or disappointed anyone. Just as I have always done, I will continue to do my best in both 2PM activities and acting, so please keep watching over me.”
