Chart-Topping Movie

Actually, the movie surged back into the Netflix Top 10 in over 40 countries this past weekend, per Tudum. Clearly, families wanted something with high energy for their holiday gatherings.

The Numbers Reveal Global Appreciation

Furthermore, it maintained a strong user rating of “7.5 out of 10” on IMDb with over 122,000 votes. It seems like the hype from the 2025 release never really faded away.

Recapping The Success

The film originally dropped on June 20, 2025, and screamed into number one place in 90 different countries almost immediately.

Since then, it became a massive cultural hit, even inspiring a wave of Halloween costumes and a history-making Oscar nomination for the song “Golden.”

Easter Hunter Mania

Recently, fans started a new trend of hiding Spirit Orbs instead of eggs for their Easter hunts. Obviously, that reveals just how deep the connection goes between fans and characters.

Then, there are the emotional themes and the “terrific soundtrack” that kept folks hooked long after the initial theatrical run. Plus, the movie is still “available on Netflix in the vast majority of countries” which makes it easy for new fans to discover the magic.

Just Keeps Getting Better

Metacritic reported a score of “77 out of 100,” which shows “generally favorable” reviews from the start. However, the audience energy is what keeps the popularity going this year.

Many folks expected interest to dip after awards season, but the opposite happened. Many of them simply can’t praise the vocals by EJAE and the rest of the cast enough. And that is probably why so many folks got unhappy when the Oscars cut her speech short.

  • I came here after seeing my 7 year old niece, wearing a K-pop Demon Hunter tshirt. It looks like a good movie, actually!
