Sunoo, from the South Korean band ENHYPEN, whose real name is Kim Sun Woo, has been credited with saving the life of a K-Pop fan. However, he might not know how his simple gesture with an umbrella changed someone’s life completely. Read on for more details.
A Viral Life-Saving Post
The story that arrived on X, formerly Twitter, was reported by Koreaboo, and it’s important to note that because the outlet supplied a lot of the translation. The translate function doesn’t always work flawlessly on the platform. According to their story, the original post by Sunoo’s admirer was about thoughts of ending it all.

The now-famous umbrella – X Via Koreaboo
Caution: This story might trigger some people as it discusses a potential suicide. Apparently, the post went viral with “over six million views.” The outlet cited a fan of ENHYPEN as talking about terrible depression, loneliness, and horrible cold rain. It was the early hours of the morning, and at the end of their tether, the fan thought about just giving up.
Well, along came Sunoo, and his car stopped nearby. It was early in the wee hours, and the fan did not recognize him immediately. But he knew he was a pop star. The original poster wrote about “sobbing” in the rain. The outlet also cited him as saying:
I heard someone coming, so I quickly turned around. Because it was late fall, I had no strength, and it was raining so much, I was so cold. But when our eyes met, I think he was shocked at my appearance. He handed me the umbrella he was holding and told me to use it and go home before I caught a cold. That is all he said before he turned around to go to his car.
The K-Pop idol went away and didn’t give his name after just telling him to go home. Well, it seems that Asian fans are not as skeptical as many others worldwide, and no comments about “stories that never happened” arrived. Instead, others were encouraging and talked about how that sort of thing is what makes him so special.
The Umbrella That Saved A Life
While it wasn’t just an umbrella, but rather the actions of the man who gave it to someone who felt sad, they kept it. It’s a green one, and it doesn’t say “lifesaver” on it. However, that’s exactly what it was. Later, the fan shared a photo and said:
This is the green umbrella I received then…people kept asking me about it in the DMs, so here is a photo! It is folded neatly. I have never used it since the day I received it. I just leave it in the drawer next to my bed.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree that it only takes a little bit of generosity of spirit to change a person’s life? They didn’t take their life, and the two people separated, never to meet again. Perhaps life is not as random, as some people like to think it is.
