One thing about the world of K-pop is that it never stops churning out news, updates and gossip. Currently, there are some newsworthy moments going on. It involves memorable moments, solo artists, and world tour expansions. Read on to find out more.
Stuck On Repeat
One group that always stands out is BTS. Since our last article about them, plenty of information arrived. Of course, folks know that the sales seem off the charts. In fact, per Korea Times, their comeback “album, Arirang, sold a staggering 4.17 million copies” in its debut week.
Meanwhile, the lead track “Swim” held the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Global chart for six consecutive days. While their Gwanghwamun Square concert already happened on March 21, the hype isn’t going away.

Recently, BigHit confirmed a remix album features individual versions of “Swim.” Actually it’s a nice way of letting each member of BTS have their day in the sun. In other news, they recently added 11 tour dates in October across five countries, including Colombia and Peru.
IVE Expands Tour Dates
IVE hits the spotlight again, something they do regularly. But their impact seems to be increasing globally. If you don’t know, they expanded their 2026 “Show What I Am” world tour.
Fans who live in Canada can rejoice because they will perform there. K-Pop fans will see them in Toronto on July 21, and later, they’ll wrap up the North American leg in Vancouver in August.

Mini-Albums & More
Meanwhile, over at BigHit, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) brings tons of anticipation. April looks exciting because their eighth mini-album, 7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns comes on the 13th.
For fans who don’t really care about contract talks, it does, for a change, seem interesting. That’s because they signed up for the second time and now fans can watch and see where that takes them.
Military Training Always Present
One thing you can always bank on with K-Pop stars, is that they disappear for military training. When they return, often there’s celebration among netizens. Upcoming military discharges that keep the topic going include the fact that NCT’s Jaehyun and Seventeen’s Jeonghan both near the end of their service.
Jaehyun is expected back on May 3, while Jeonghan follows shortly after in June. Similar news involves Hwichan from OMEGA X. Bookmark this date: April 3. After the hiatus that often stalls group momentum, seeing stars prep for their civilian return gets tons of people talking about potential summer comebacks.
News Coverage
When Arirang News shared more about Asian music recently, one follower wrote:
bts is the only k-pop group, past and present, to generate such unequaled attention and excitement worldwide, with tremendous impact on, and contribution to, the korean economy and the korean government’s soft power diplomacy. bts members are the true kings of k-pop.
Others also still seem amazed at how the genre took the world by storm. Another fan penned, “If i was a Korean i would so proud and thankful to them. Hats off BTS.”
