The behind-the-scenes images quickly captivated fans, offering a more personal look at Jisoo’s time on set. Her radiant presence and the candid moments shared in the photos generated positive buzz surrounding ‘Newtopia.’ Fans were eager to see Jisoo in this new role and expressed their support for the drama.

Acting Controversy Surfaces Again

Despite the excitement surrounding the photos, the release also brought renewed attention to past criticisms of Jisoo’s acting. Online communities have been actively discussing her performance in ‘Newtopia,’ with some viewers expressing concerns about her vocal delivery and overall acting expression. Comparisons have even been drawn to Ji Ye Eun‘s comedic performance on SNL Korea, with some claiming that Jisoo’s portrayal disrupts the drama’s immersion.

Echoes of ‘Snowdrop’ Criticism

The current debate also revisits criticisms Jisoo faced for her acting in the 2021 drama ‘Snowdrop.’ During that series, she received backlash for unclear pronunciation and perceived awkward facial expressions. These past criticisms have resurfaced, fueling ongoing skepticism about her acting abilities and impacting the reception of her role in ‘Newtopia.’

Awaiting ‘Newtopia’ and ‘AMORTAGE’

While the acting controversy continues, fans are eagerly awaiting the full release of ‘Newtopia‘ to form their own opinions. The drama offers Jisoo another opportunity to showcase her talent and potentially silence her critics. Furthermore, Jisoo is preparing for her solo music comeback with the mini-album ‘AMORTAGE,’ set to be released on February 14th. This upcoming release has generated significant anticipation among her fans and marks her first solo release in nearly two years.
