The ongoing speculation surrounding Kim Soo Hyun‘s past relationships has taken another turn with a new report from South Korean media outlet Money Today. The report, published on April 25 KST, directly challenges the claims made by the late actress Kim Sae Ron side regarding her alleged relationship with the popular actor, particularly the timeline presented.
Previously, based on KakaoTalk messages reportedly from Kim Sae Ron’s side, it was suggested that she and Kim Soo Hyun dated between late 2015 and July 2021. This timeline included periods when Kim Sae Ron was a minor, a point that has drawn significant scrutiny.
However, Money Today‘s report presents a different narrative. Citing industry insiders, the outlet claims that Kim Soo Hyun was actually in a relationship with an idol-turned-actress, identified only as ‘A’, between late 2016 and around the spring of 2019. This period notably includes Kim Soo Hyun’s mandatory military service. The report suggests this alleged relationship with ‘A’ serves as “proof” that Kim Soo Hyun could not have been dating Kim Sae Ron during those specific years.
According to Money Today, Kim Soo Hyun and ‘A’ became acquainted through their shared agency at the time. The outlet further states that their relationship was an “open secret” within the entertainment industry, noting that both stars had been involved in multiple dating scandals in the past.
An unnamed industry insider is quoted stating,
“It’s well-known that Kim Soo Hyun and ‘A’ dated between 2017-2019. Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron then dated between 2019-2020.”
Money Today further casts doubt on the possibility of a six-year relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron (2015-2021). The report alleges that well-informed sources indicate Kim Sae Ron was involved with other individuals in 2016, 2018, and 2021. Specifically, the outlet claims Kim Sae Ron openly dated singer WOODZ in 2021.
The report also echoes Kim Soo Hyun’s side by pointing out alleged “flaws” in the evidence shared by Kim Sae Ron’s side and the YouTube channel HOVERLAB. Money Today claims that photos presented as being taken in 2016 were likely taken after 2019. Additionally, they allege that in other photos, an unidentified male individual with Kim Sae Ron was not Kim Soo Hyun.
Interestingly, the report also mentions Kim Soo Hyun’s past public dating scandals with former Wonder Girls member Sohee in 2015 and again in 2017, adding another layer to the actor’s dating history.
