Seventeen‘s Wonwoo has just completed his basic military training, and he did so in incredibly admirable fashion. On April 24th KST, photos and fan accounts emerged detailing Wonwoo’s prominent role as the representative at the completion ceremony for his fellow new recruits.

Wonwoo, looking sharp and composed, marched onto the ceremony grounds alongside flag bearers. But it was his voice that truly resonated. Reports indicate that he delivered the official report on the successful completion of basic training with a strong and enthusiastic tone, representing the entire cohort of new soldiers. To be selected for such a significant role speaks volumes about the impression Wonwoo made during his training period and his inherent leadership qualities.

Wonwoo began his mandatory military service on April 3rd KST. He will now proceed to the next phase of his service as a public service worker. His current expected discharge date is January 2, 2027. He joins fellow Seventeen member Jeonghan, who is also currently serving, reminding us that while we miss their presence in the music scene, they are both fulfilling important responsibilities.

The news of Wonwoo’s role at the ceremony has understandably created pride and support through the Carat community online. The hashtag #WONWOO is currently trending globally.
