THE BOYZ‘s Sunwoo has directly addressed the recent controversy surrounding a viral video that captured an interaction between him and a security guard. The video, which rapidly amassed nearly 10 million views, sparked criticism from netizens who perceived Sunwoo’s behavior as rude and ungrateful.

The clip showed Sunwoo dropping his AirPods, which a security guard promptly retrieved and returned to him. Many viewers took issue with Sunwoo’s apparent reaction, claiming he yelled about his AirPods and failed to express gratitude to the guard.

Sunwoo has now offered his perspective on the incident via the fan communication platform. He acknowledged the potential for misinterpretation after watching the video himself.

“Everyone kept talking about AirPods, and after watching the video, it did seem like I was being rude and not saying thank you,” Sunwoo stated.

He then proceeded to explain the context of the situation, saying,

“A fan yelled something at me, and I didn’t know my AirPods had fallen out, so I was confused. After finding out it was my AirPods, I yelled ‘My Airpods!’ and tried to find it, and after the guard picked it up, I bowed and said thank you.”

He further emphasized his awareness of the potential for misinterpretation, saying,

“I can totally understand how it could be seen that way! If someone holds the door for me I always say thank you! Don’t worry.”

Sunwoo also committed to being more mindful of his actions in the future to prevent similar misunderstandings.

“I can’t always explain situations like this, but since it is my fault that my actions could be seen in another way, I will be aware. But whenever I am at a music broadcast or somewhere, I greet everyone, even the cleaning staff. I will be aware of my actions so that unfortunate misunderstandings like this don’t happen.”

However, he also expressed a degree of frustration with the swift and often one-sided criticism he received.

“I accept and am aware of how my actions could have been misinterpreted, but I wonder if the people who only looked at one side of the situation and criticized me are being respectful, too.”

Despite his feelings, Sunwoo concluded his message with a positive note, promoting his upcoming activities and reiterating his commitment to proper etiquette.

“Anyway, let’s all do our best. Thanks for watching the radio and please watch the music broadcast tomorrow! And when greeting and saying thanks, I will always bow my head no matter the circumstance! Because that is what’s right!”

Sunwoo’s response demonstrates an attempt to address the criticism directly and offer clarity, while also expressing his own feelings about the situation. What are your thoughts on this situation and Sunwoo’s response?
