Fans still argue about whether KATSEYE is really K-pop or global pop. Either way, they bring plenty of energy. The group came out of the HYBE and Geffen Records reality competition The Debut: Dream Academy.
This weekend, fans raved about Barcelona-based SIKREN Crew’s dance cover of “Hootie Frutti,” a song from KATSEYE’s 2026 EP WILD. In fact, the EYEKON fandom who saw it on YouTube loved it.
Dancing to K-Pop Covers
SIKREN consists of seven members, although not all of them appear in every performance. The group regularly creates dance covers of K-pop songs.
A few days earlier, they performed a cover of Red Velvet’s “Surfin’ Boy.” The song arrived around the time Seulgi revealed that she had encountered problems with her outfit that resuled in a wardrobe malfunction.
KATSEYE’s energetic music naturally lends itself to dance covers, and SIKREN didn’t disappoint.
Excited Because Axel Is Back
Judging by the comments, Axel hadn’t performed with them for a while. Fans were delighted to see him again, and some felt the group hadn’t been quite the same without him.

Axel got k-pop fans raving – SIKREN CREW – YouTube
One person commented, “Finally Axel is back!! I miss him fr.” And they weren’t the only ones who noticed the video was totally next level with him. Another viewer added, “Brother, this is the most energetic cover I’ve seen…”
Here’s another very happy K-pop fan: “AXEL I’M SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU BACK, I can’t explain how happy I am right now.”
Who Are They?
This dance cover group is based in Barcelona and regularly posts performances on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. They currently have about 12,400 subscribers on YouTube.
Their channel bio says: “Hi everyone!! We are SIKREN🫧 We are a group of 7 members Hope you like our covers.”
SIKREN operates within Barcelona’s active K-pop dance-cover scene, which also includes groups such as EST Crew. However, I found no evidence that the two groups are formally connected.
Not all seven members appeared in the “Hootie Frutti” cover.Only five dancers appeared this time. Jaime danced Daniela’s part, Jud was Lara, Irene took Sophia, Axel stood in for Yoonchae, and Mimi performed Megan’s role.
One enthusiastic viewer asked, “And these divas, who are they? They fascinated me with their energetic dancing. They really ate.”
“The guy with the Brazil shirt got the idea,” was another comment directed at Axel. And yes, the outfits were phenomenal, reminiscent of the 1970s platform style but with narrower heels.

Tons Of Praise
Overall, the cover received a lot of praise from K-pop and KATSEYE fans. Here are a few more reactions from the discussion:
- “OMGGGG YALLLL EATINGG DOWN QUEENS, AND THANK YALL FOR ALL THE HARD WORK, INCLUDING THE CAMERAMAN OR WOMAN.”
- “They are so beautiful and gorgeous, I loved them!”
