Genie Make A Wish premieres in just another few days, and already, Kim Woo Bin (Jinn the Genie) has new work lined up. Right now he’s busy with promotions for the awaited Netflix series. But, his mind will be turning to his next project that starts filming next year. Read on for more details.
The Next Project
According to Allkpop.com, and other outlets, the South Korean k-drama actor will star in a new movie for tvN. Titled Gift, it’s a drama focused on sport. The former model who met with so much success as an actor will play the role of Jung Min Yong. Like so many shows that emerge these days, there’s an element of mystery.

No doubt, Kim Woo Bin will easily carry off the character who is a former baseball coach. However, the mystery involves some sort of “strange ability” that arises after an accident. It’s not clear what the ability is, but engaged to coach “the worst high school baseball team,” one can only assume that he leads them to glory.
The Anticipated Success Of Genie
The global premiere of Genie Makes A Wish seems certain to bring good ratings. Interest in the series is very high. Of course, fans of K-pop are still hyped about Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters, and Golden, the soundtrack. Each new K-drama seems to be better than the one before.
Kim Woo Bin, the Genie named Jinn, AKA Iblis, already played the mysterious and mildly occultish character. So, in his next project, Gift, he probably succeeds to engage the audience as well. If you don’t know, Genie Make A Wish is defined as a romantic-comedy, and of course, is a new take on the old story about the magic lamp.
In the movie, Bae Suzy gets to make some wishes, but the character, Ka-young needs to be mindful because lines blur between good and bad. And, it doesn’t help that Ka-young struggles with some mental health issues.
The Premiere
It’s a series, so expect the release of a new episode each week, but Netflix will premiere the first episode on October 3 worldwide. The date was specially chosen because it comes just in time for Korea’s Chuseok holiday. It’s not a holiday everywhere of course, but it does coincide with World Smile Day. Fans of the actor will no doubt be smiling as they tune in to watch the Genie.
Look out for coverage of the big premiere event, because Kim Woo Bin will make appearances across the world. He’ll be busy with his promotions for a while, before presumably taking a break before he starts working on Gift.
