The Announcement In September

When the reminder arrived, plenty of people who saw the actor in shows like Love Alarm, Sweet Home, Nevertheless, and Forecasting Love and Weather found a lot of responses.

One follower wrote, “Oh happy happy day!! Can’t wait to see him back in action. South Korea’s best!!”

Here are a few more responses that show his popularity never diminished while he was away:

  • The wait is almost over! You are eagerly awaited to return to the spotlight!
  • Congratulations and welcome back. You have been missed.
  • Waiting now impatiently for his come back. I can’t wait to see one of his new acting. I know it is going to be amazing.
  • Will be thrilled to see you in a new drama though hope you get to relax and enjoy life once discharged before jumping into new projects.

What’s Next For The Actor

Well, Song Kang doesn’t seem ready to relax for too long, because the word on the street is that he’s already lining up for an appearance in the potential drama Four Hands, which is set in an arts high school and explores themes of youth and growth.

Additionally, it seems there is much more awaiting the actor. With his service now complete, he is formally stepping away from his military unit and directly back into the spotlight, with a slate of new offers and a global fanbase eagerly awaiting his next move.

Never Forgetting Fans

Song Kang made an effort to stay in touch with his fans while he was serving in the military. The award-winning actor, who studied Film Arts at Konkuk University, made an appearance in the movie, Escape. Additionally, fans saw him in Sweet Home 3.

2025 saw many K-drama and K-pop stars entering and completing their military service. One of them was Jungkook, who sent a message to his ARMY of followers while busy with his duties. Others who came and went included Cha Eun Woo. Back in May, fans heard he would join the Korean military band.

Meanwhile, actor Lee Do Hyun was discharged in the same month. Like Song Kang, he is also looking forward to resuming his on-screen career and has received plenty of offers including dramas, films, and endorsements.
